Position Title: Senior Sales Consultant
Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire
Working hours: 08:00am – 5pm
Level/Salary Range: £40,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Job type: Full-time, Permanent

Clarke Talbot Renewable Energy Systems Ltd (CTREL) is a company which is the sum of its parts, its parts being the people who work here and their vast knowledge & experience in the Renewable Tech industry. Managing Director of CTREL, Dave Clarke, brings 36 years’ experience in the heating industry, the last 15 years dedicated solely to the renewables sector.

With an extensive range of skills, areas covered include System Design, Specification, Consultancy, Manufacturing, Equipment testing and Certification along with Project Management all alongside MD duties.

CTREL distinguishes itself against competitors through being a main distributor for Stiebel Eltron, Clivet, and UK Cylinders as well as intergroup distribution includes Nilan, Alnor & Ecoforest. New product ranges and manufacturer deals are imminent. CTREL’s USP focuses on the depth of knowledge and experience shared within the team. Key examples include Dave Clarke (MD) and his operations manager having an internal working relationship amounting to 23 years. Further to this. CTREL employs lead engineers who have worked together for over a decade and carried out their training under Dave Clarke’s and Rob Turner’s (Operations Manager) supervision and tutelage.

Summary:

Clarke Talbot Renewables Ltd is looking for an experienced Sales Consultant to join their team.  A self-starter with a professional attitude who relishes achieving great results.

The focus will mainly be on Domestic and Light-Commercial Air Source Heat Pump supply only and installation project sales. Developing the already successful sales pipeline, the successful candidate will build working relationships with Heads of Renewables, Sustainability Managers, End-user Companies, Main Contractors, Developers, M&E Contractors, Architects and Consultants in order to increase sales opportunities. They will put an emphasis on visiting clients to assist in the specification, quotation and design of the company’s products.  A strong knowledge base in Heat Pumps installations and MVHR and heating distribution systems would be beneficial but full product training is available.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Senior Sales Consultant

  • Identifying and meeting customer needs with best-in-class proposals resulting in order intake levels/targets set.
  • Ensuring that all orders secured achieve company GM requirement set each year.
  • Meeting clients on site and discussing their needs whilst surveying the property to define a solution utilising the full range of ComPro technologies available.
  • Conveying, to varied clientele, mixed technology solutions and understanding how multiple technologies will integrate with each other to provide the best result for the client.
  • Sizing heat pump systems to ensure that the best financial returns are achieved by the client and the correct technical specification of equipment is sold.
  • Maintaining good sales relationships including undertaking presentations for key industry contacts, engaging with networking events and maintaining regular conversations with existing and prospective clients.
  • Looking out for the next innovation to constantly improve knowledge on the latest product details, technology developments, industry news and policy changes.
  • Developing good relationships with operations and maintaining relationships throughout the project life cycle, including any involvement needed with the customer to ensure that CTREL get paid for what we do.
  • Compile, sometimes complex proposals, and quotations

Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Basic Mechanical or Electrical knowledge or understanding.
  • Excellent Account Management skills.
  • IT Skills: MS applications, to include PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Full driver’s license.
  • Passionate about renewables.
  • Ability to network and negotiate.
  • Dynamics capability
  • Commercial accountability
  • Previous selling experience

Desirable:

  • Experience working in the Renewable Energy Industry – ASHP, MVHR
  • Experience in presenting to board level
  • Surveying Experience
  • Knowledge on company products sold: E.g. Stiebel Eltron, Eco-Forest & Clivet

  • Ability to establish and nurture relationships with past and potential clients to facilitate sales.
  • Ability to talk confidently to clients, suppliers etc. via email/phone and in person.

  • Ability to come up with creative solutions to customer requests and willing to adapt and implement new strategies and sales method.
